Ultimately, Volunteers in Colombia Foundation wants to maximize our impact as Colombian nonprofit organization. We focus mainly on the smaller local organizations that don’t have the means nor the capability to advertise their needs on websites or social media. By supporting our Foundation, these local organizations will receive the help they desperately need
We believe it is important that our volunteers know up front that our goal is to effect systemic change in the communities in which we operate. We do not support "volunteer tourism" because we believe that this form of volunteering does not have a positive impact on Colombian society as a whole. That is why we require a minimum duration of one month when volunteering.
With the common objective of a better Colombia, we will without a doubt create the change everyone wants to see.
When you apply for the program, we ask for a one-time administrative fee of $85 to cover the background check, the interview process between volunteers and NGOs, and general administrative costs.
