WHAT DOES VOLUNTEERS IN COLOMBIA DO?
As a foundation, we meet with community leaders and collectives so we learn about the needs of their neighborhood, directly from the people who live there. Together we work on solutions for complex problems.
"Teamwork: Coming together is beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success."
Our foundation created projects together with local leaders, that fall under the sustainable development goals of the United Nations. We focus particularly on Zero Hunger and Gender Equality.
By working with these goals and realizing sustainable projects, we provide the community with opportunities to face a brighter future. Our projects are carried out in estrato 0-1 (in Colombia you have a class system, of which 1 is the poorest community and 6 the most prosperous. 0 does not officially exist, which means that these settlements are not recognized by the government).
COVID-19 has created more violence and sexual abuse against females worldwide. Next to that, more and more families are set back to extreme poverty, which means that food insecurity is becoming a bigger problem and inequality is increasing.
