Public transport is well organized in Cali, according to Colombian standards.
Cali does not have a metro system like Medellín, but the city has a wide range of buses you can take, and for a very good price! Most famous are the MIO buses, which are large buses fitted with air conditioning, something that most buses do not have. The MIO buses drive throughout the entire city. All you need to do in order to use it, is to buy a card, which costs $3.000. You charge the card, and then you are good to go. A single fare costs $2.000.
Of course, always pay attention to your personal belongings. Also in Cali, people will try and rob your phone or other belongings if you’re not careful. It is therefore advised to wear your backpack in front of you in crowded places, just to be safe. This will make sure that people do not try and rob you as fast. A lot of products that we have are simply inaccessible for them.
