In the southwest of Colombia, you will find the city of Cali, it is the capital of the province of Valle del Cauca. Cali has about 2.5 million inhabitants, and is the third largest city in Colombia, after Bogotá and Medellín. The climate is warm, with an average temperature of 26.8 degrees Celsius. The city lies 1,000 meters above sea level, which means that malaria does not occur in the city.
Cali is known as the capital of salsa. Everywhere you can find salsa clubs where you can go, and almost all inhabitants know how to dance salsa. You can also take classes in the city, sometimes even for free. But for the people who don't like salsa, Cali has plenty of other things to offer. There are many natural parks, beautiful hiking trails and very nice neighbourhoods with great buildings and architectural sights.
Who wouldn't want to volunteer in Cali, with its rich salsa culture, tropical climate and beautiful architecture?
However, also in great Cali, the local community can use your help perfectly. And of course, you as a person learn as well. There is always something new to discover and learn.
