Foundation Volunteers in Colombia is a non-governmental organization.
Our target group are children who have been abused or neglected. We are committedto fighting child abuse and neglect in Colombia.
"Child abuse is any form of act or omission by an adult which is threatening, harmful or violent to a child or young person. Our goal is to prevent child abuse.
Thus, we focus on 2 goals as laid out by the United Nations:
1: Zero hunger
2: Gender equality
By working with these goals and realizing sustainable projects, we provide our target group with opportunities for a better future. Our projects are carried out in estrato 0-2 (in Colombia you have certain levels of neighborhoods of which 0 is the most poor district and 6 the most prosperous district).
We work in the poorest neighborhoods where our work will have the greatest impact. In recent years, the number of people living in extreme poverty has decreased, however, COVID-19 has erased many of the economic gains and more and more families are now food and resource insecure.
Our team in Colombia:
Andrea Gonzalez: She is our project leader in the field.
Yennifer Dallmann: She is our project manager and social media expert.
