The Climate

In southwest Colombia you will find the city of Cali, the capital of the province of Valle del Cauca. Cali has a population of about 2.5 million making it Colombia’s third largest city behind Bogotá and Medellín. The climate is warm, with an average temperature of 26.8 degrees Celsius (80 degrees F). The city’s elevation is 1,000 meters above sea level (3,280 feet), which means it's too high for malaria to take hold.

02

The Culture

Cali is known as the “salsa capital of the world” and you can easily find a local salsa club throughout the city. Many of the salsa clubs host dance classes, some are free of charge, before they open their doors. Most Calenos know how to dance and salsa is a great way of getting to know people.
